Commodity Science and Food Marketing
The course covers issues related to the functional properties of food industry raw materials and final products, processes in food production and food quality management in connection with the analysis of consumer needs and their segmentation. The study program includes subjects related to the implementation of new products on the market and the marketing of final products. Students deepen their knowledge in the areas of microeconomics, macroeconomics, the basics of management and marketing, market strategies, innovative strategies in enterprises, marketing in the digital age, marketing product development, advertising and consumer psychology, graphic design and computer techniques in trade in goods.
Graduates work as commodity experts and specialists in quality and brand development or product management. They are prepared to work in food industry and food industry enterprises, mainly in positions dealing with food marketing, sales, as well as food market analysis and logistics.

You will gain knowledge on: chemical properties of food ingredients, the basics of plant and animal production, food materials science, general food technology and the basics of commodity science, macroeconomics as well as economics and organization of a food enterprise, as well as the basics of marketing, marketing in the digital age, logistics , sustainable consumption, the basics of food law, ecology and environmental protection and sustainable processing, graphic design, computer technology in commodity trading, creative thinking, advertising and consumer psychology, as well as innovative strategies in the enterprise.
What are the career prospects?
After graduation, you will be prepared to work in various positions in various places in the food chain and you will be able to work in various food industry enterprises or companies involved in the production and marketing of food as:
- commodity experts,
- a quality specialist,
- Brand Manager and marketing product management specialist,
- Product Research and Development Specialist,
- a specialist for sales, goods distribution, logistics, export or delivery organization.
You will also be able to find work in customs offices, companies dealing with product attestations and certification, as well as in research institutions and research and development centers. As graduates of this field of study, you will also be prepared to conduct research and continue your studies at the second degree studies.
